Allegheny County Assessment Appeals for 2022 Tax Year
Real Estate consumers in Allegheny County have a new opportunity to potentially lower their property tax bill. Favorable legal action has adjusted the Common Level Ratio, that determines assessed taxable property values, from 81.1% to 63.53%. In response, Allegheny County Council has passed new legislation, at RAMP’s request, opening a second chance assessment appeals period for the 2022 tax year. Appeals may be filed by property owners or by taxing bodies for the 2022 tax year through March 31, 2023. This second chance appeal period is running consecutively with the appeal period for 2023 property assessments.
