Tuesday evenings. RE Brokerage and Office Management is MANDATORY for all BROKER CANDIDATES.
This course provides a comprehensive analysis of the structural, financial, and operational frameworks required to establish and manage a real estate brokerage in compliance with the Pennsylvania State Real Estate Commission. Designed for aspiring brokers and managers, the curriculum applies advanced management theories to the complex dynamics of running a real estate firm staffed by both employees and independent contractors.
The curriculum is structured around four core regulatory dimensions:
- Planning and Organizing: Students analyze strategic goal setting, organizational design, policy manual development, and the orchestration of specialized financial systems—including operating budgets, balance sheet management, and the metrics of “company dollar”. The course also evaluates the microeconomics of office establishment, including site selection and lease-versus-own analytics.
- Controlling the Market: The course delivers systematic methodologies for macro and micro market analysis. Students will examine stages of business growth and strategic expansion models, contrasting horizontal and vertical diversification strategies (e.g., residential specialization, commercial, appraisal, and property management) against localized growth patterns.
- Directing and Leadership: Grounded in behavioral and motivational management theories, this module explores effective leadership styles, critical transition hurdles from field sales to corporate administration, and the optimization of multi-channel business communication.
- Human Resources and Staffing: Participants examine the legal and practical realities of personnel inventory planning. Focus is placed on talent acquisition, independent contractor vs. employee recruitment metrics, selection procedures, and onboarding training frameworks.
Price includes shipped book which is mailed a week before the course starts.
